Vietnam grants e-visa for all nations and increases length of stay for 13 visa-exempt countries

According to the resolution issued on Monday, Vietnam has decided to provide e-visas to citizens of all nations and territories entering Vietnam beginning on August 15, 2023. Instead of allowing E-visa applications for 80 countries as before, the visa relaxation is to encourage investment, commercial collaboration, tourism, and scientific research.

The new e-visa will be valid for multiple entries within 90 days and be provided by the Vietnam Immigration Department to foreigners using the electronic transaction system.

There are 13 airports, 16 land border gates and 13 sea border gates that allow e-visas. In details:

Also, the government has passed a new resolution extending the length of stay from 15 to 45 days for citizens of 13 nations under Vietnam visa waiver.

These countries are Germany, France, Italy, Spain, the U.K., Northern Ireland, Russia, Japan, South Korea, Denmark, Sweden, Norway, Finland and Belarus. Regardless of the type of passport or the purpose for immigration, citizens of these nations are permitted to stay for 45 days after the time of entry, regardless of passport type and entry purpose.
