Arriving at Tan Son Nhat airport in Ho Chi Minh City, the tour guide is waiting for you and take you to your hotel. You’ll have time to relax after your journey before a Welcome dinner.

In the evening, you may enjoy a performance of traditional Water Puppetry, an art form unique to northern Vietnam, and a good, light-hearted introduction to its rural culture.

Alternatively, you may want to experience the A O show, the Vietnam’s contrasting portrait on peaceful country life and busy urbanization (extra expense).

You’ll spend the night in Ho Chi Minh City.

After breakfast, your guide will arrive to show you around Ho Chi Minh City. You’ll visit the Reunification Hall – an early colonial masterpiece constructed to accommodate the Governor – general of Indochina. After 15-minute walking, you will find the HCMC Fine Arts Museum, an impressive example of Sino-French architecture, where you will look at the work of wartime artists, including both combat sketches and original propaganda posters. The Fine Arts Museum also houses modern works by both Northern and Southern artists. You also will be invited to see the differences between pre- and post-reunification artworks and learn how politics led to Vietnam’s 90’s art market boom.

After lunch, you’ll also call in at the Jade Emperor Temple. It’s one of the best Taoist temples in Vietnam, with superb effigies, remarkable carved panels of the descent to Hell and somewhat incongruous terrapin and tortoise sanctuaries. Later, the Museum of War Remnants provides a very partial, but riveting, perspective of the ‘American War’: not for the squeamish!

You’ll then return your hotel for freshen up or wander around the huge Ben Thanh market, one of the liveliest areas of Ho Chi Minh City, is packed with every conceivable commodity. You’ll spend the night in Ho Chi Minh City.

Visiting a traditional medicine shop, an ancient Buddhist temple and a hidden Chinese pagoda. The final ride takes you into heart of Saigon to see some classic city landmarks such as Saigon Post Office, Notre Dame Cathedral, Independence Palace.

Back to the hotel and meet your guide for lunch. In the afternoon, you’ll drive to the outskirt of Ho Chi Minh City to visit the famous Cu Chi tunnels, a Byzantine maze of underground passages, chambers, rooms and booby traps used by both the Vietminh and the Viet Cong to suddenly materialise as if from nowhere, launch a lightning ambush, and vanish equally rapidly. You’ll spend the night in Ho Chi Minh City.

In the morning, you’ll be picked up at your hotel at about eight o’clock to travel to Ben Tre. On arrival, you visit a local market selling typical seafood and agricultural products.
