Itinerary
Arriving at Tan Son Nhat airport in Ho Chi Minh City, the tour guide is waiting for you and take you to your hotel. You’ll have time to relax after your journey before a Welcome dinner.
In the evening, you may enjoy a performance of traditional Water Puppetry, an art form unique to northern Vietnam, and a good, light-hearted introduction to its rural culture.
Alternatively, you may want to experience the A O show, the Vietnam’s contrasting portrait on peaceful country life and busy urbanization (extra expense).
You’ll spend the night in Ho Chi Minh City.
After breakfast, your guide will arrive to show you around Ho Chi Minh City. You’ll visit the Reunification Hall – an early colonial masterpiece constructed to accommodate the Governor – general of Indochina. After 15-minute walking, you will find the HCMC Fine Arts Museum, an impressive example of Sino-French architecture, where you will look at the work of wartime artists, including both combat sketches and original propaganda posters. The Fine Arts Museum also houses modern works by both Northern and Southern artists. You also will be invited to see the differences between pre- and post-reunification artworks and learn how politics led to Vietnam’s 90’s art market boom.
After lunch, you’ll also call in at the Jade Emperor Temple. It’s one of the best Taoist temples in Vietnam, with superb effigies, remarkable carved panels of the descent to Hell and somewhat incongruous terrapin and tortoise sanctuaries. Later, the Museum of War Remnants provides a very partial, but riveting, perspective of the ‘American War’: not for the squeamish!
You’ll then return your hotel for freshen up or wander around the huge Ben Thanh market, one of the liveliest areas of Ho Chi Minh City, is packed with every conceivable commodity. You’ll spend the night in Ho Chi Minh City.
At 08:00 am, you are met at the hotel and transferred to a Café in center Saigon. Here you start a ridding pillion on a vintage Vespa to the unique Bird Club in the park (morning only) and continue to the Thich Quang Duc Monument. The morning adventurous mix of historic landmarks and hidden treasures continues as we soak up the local culture at a fresh flower market and then a bright and vibrant fabric market. Visiting a traditional medicine shop, an ancient Buddhist temple and a hidden Chinese pagoda. The final ride takes you into heart of Saigon to see some classic city landmarks such as Saigon Post Office, Notre Dame Cathedral, Independence Palace.
Back to the hotel and meet your guide for lunch. In the afternoon, you’ll drive to the outskirt of Ho Chi Minh City to visit the famous Cu Chi tunnels, a Byzantine maze of underground passages, chambers, rooms and booby traps used by both the Vietminh and the Viet Cong to suddenly materialise as if from nowhere, launch a lightning ambush, and vanish equally rapidly. You’ll spend the night in Ho Chi Minh City.
In the morning, you’ll be picked up at your hotel at about eight o’clock to travel to Ben Tre. On arrival, you visit a local market selling typical seafood and agricultural products. You will board a boat to cruise on the Mekong Delta and zoom the local fishermen daily work and traffic in the river. Enjoy fresh coconut juice while the boat takes you to Cai Son canal through Nipa-palm forest. You walk to visit local families and explore how they handle coconut shells, also taste coconut candy, honey tea handmade, see how local breed bees in their farm.
You will visit Nhon Trach village to see local women preserve traditional handicraft for mat weaving. Then you hop on a motor-cart (or ride a bike) along village paths to local family/restaurant for lunch. You’ll have chance experience rowing on sampan through narrow Nipa-plam canals, thence to meet your vehicle for a drive to Vinh Long.
After breakfast, you will visit the Vinh Long market in the town. This is the best choice for you to take pictures of fish, shrimps, prawns, crabs, snakes, rice-field rats, tropical fruits, vegetables...
A cruise will take you downstream on Mekong River seeing many floating cages for farming fish. Then, the first stop to visit the local workshop to see how to make rice paper, coconut candy, pop-rice... Enjoy some sweets with a cup of hot tea.
The rowing boat will take you deeper into the countryside on smaller canals to enjoy the peaceful time. Then, we’ll walk to visit the orchard & traditional house of Ut Trinh family. Here, we will enjoy some kinds of fruits and tea, lunch can be served at this local house.
Biking can be made for a leisure! It will be so amazing to do cycling on village paths to see the daily life of the rural people: orchard, school, church, pagoda, traditional houses... On the way back to Vinh Long town, we can make one more stop to visit the brick kilns where you can see how the local people create beautiful potteries from clay.
You will stay at Can Tho for overnight stay
Start at 6:00 am, we take the boat to Cai Rang Floating Market – the biggest wholesale floating market in the Mekong Delta. The Cai Rang Floating Market is well known for its variety of fresh fruits and other local products. Hundreds of boats still gather there to buy and sell every morning. Then visit a local house to see how the locals make rice noodle “hu tieu”, on the way back we will visit Cocoa garden to know how the locals make fresh chocolate and try some. Then get back to the boat, we go into a very beautiful canal with lots of water coconut 2 sides of river (depends on the tide, we can go through the canal or just a short distance.
We take bikes and get on the ferry to the other side of the river, riding around the beautiful village, get to know the locals' daily activities. Them we visit a blacksmith on the way, he is the only man working in that place, then 1 more stop at a local house to learn how to make fresh rice noodle -"Banh Hoi Mat Vong" the only one place in Vietnam making it.
Middle afternoon, you will leave Can Tho to take a short flight to Phu Quoc Island. A local driver (or hotel bus) is waiting you to drive you to check in hotel and relaxing time.
Four days free for you, just for relaxing and enjoying the beach, sunshine as well as local seafood.
Phu Quoc is Vietnam’s largest island. Located in the Gulf of Thailand, has a wide variety of beaches, some regarded as the best in Vietnam. Duong Dong, the main town, is interesting with plenty of restaurants. Diving and snorkelling are available as well as hiking, cycling and similar activities.
Phu Quoc provides a good beach holiday with a range of activities if required.
Your time will be your own until your time leaving to Phu Quoc airport for a short flight back to Tan Son Nhat airport, then to connect your international departure flight.

Following the receipt of the initial deposit, the client will be furnished with a confirmation of the tour details. The client shall immediately notify in writing if any errors are noted. SKY ASIA TRAVEL shall not be responsible for any errors not so notified.
