Itinerary
Arriving at Tan Son Nhat airport in Ho Chi Minh City at 2.30PM, the tour guide is waiting for you and take you to your hotel. You can leave your luggage at hotel.
Then, your guide will take you to visit the city of Ho Chi Minh City.
You’ll visit the Reunification Hall – an early colonial masterpiece constructed to accommodate the Governor – general of Indochina, it is also the site of the end of Vietnam War so it helps you understanding a part of Vietnam history.
You’ll then wander around the Nguyen Hue walking street, Nha Rong harbor and Ben Thanh market, one of the liveliest areas of Ho Chi Minh City, is packed with every conceivable commodity. You can buy some local dishes like coffee, tea, cashew, clothes in Ben Thanh market or some shopping centers nearby.
Dinner and you’ll spend the night in Ho Chi Minh City.
After breakfast, you leave Ho Chi Minh city and drive to the Mekong Delta. Firstly, you come to Tan Phong island being remoted the mainland but having lush orchards all around. You will walk through village path to visit gardens, traditional houses to see how the local people make handicrafts. Relax at a garden where you have chance to enjoy fresh seasonal fruits and traditional music. It is now time to have boat cruise rowing through tiny canals.
Leaving Tan Phong, you embark a boat cruise cross Mekong river and continue river channel to An Binh island. You come to the homestay in An Binh island for lunch, thence have time to explore local workshop to know how people there make rice paper, coconut candy, pop-rice… The local guide takes you to traditional cottage industries and family-run to study how local people make brick kilns or potteries from clay.
Late afternoon, you again cruise Mekong river but now to Vinh Long city. You meet the driver to transfer back to Ho Chi Minh City for dinner and stay overnight.
A morning drive will take you to Tay Ninh to visit the Tay Ninh Holy City. The Holy Land is organized closely, scientifically, combining artificial architectures as well as natural landscape. Cao Dai Holy See also known as the Holy Temple is the largest holy site of Caodaism, and has an remarkable architecture. You should not miss the middle-day ceremony to understand the Cao Dai Religion (or Caodaism) because it is a ‘new’ religion unique to Vietnam.
After lunch, you’ll continue to the famous Cu Chi tunnels, a Byzantine maze of underground passages, chambers, rooms and booby traps used by both the Vietminh and the Viet Cong to suddenly materialise as if from nowhere, launch a lightning ambush, and vanish equally rapidly.
Late afternoon, you return Chi Minh City.
You will enjoy a special buffet dinner on Indochina Queen cruise while it runs along Saigon River. You will spend the night in Ho Chi Minh City.
After breakfast, you will be met by driver and be driven to Tan Son Nhat airport for your international departure flight PR592 at 9.30am.
